Pretty In Pink: McKinley's 1st Birthday Party

For months I have been  planning, organizing & crafting McKinley's 1st birthday party. The big day finally arrived and it couldn't have been more perfect! Everything turned out just like I had envisioned! McKinley's dress fit perfectly, the decorations looked great, the food was yummy, the cookies finally turned out, the cake didn't cave in on itself and best of all... NO MELTDOWNS (by me or McKinley:)!

I was definitely exhausted after the party (by no one's fault buy my own), but all the work was totally worth it. I know McKinley will not have any memories of this day, but she had a blast! She enjoyed all of her presents, she loved looking at all the pictures of herself and she loved the cake.

McKinley's Pretty In Pink 1st Birthday Party:

McKinley took it upon herself to get the party started. Shortly after everyone arrived, she crawled over to the gift pile and started opening presents. This time (unlike at Christmas) she was way more interested in the present than the tissue & wrapping paper.

The entire house was decorated in pink for the party!

The weather was perfect for grilling and partying outside!

McKinley is blessed to have all of these wonderful people in her life!

Of course I couldn't let our guests leave without a party favor!

What a fun day! I still can't believe that our baby girl is 1 year old! Now to start planning her 2nd birthday:)

Tutu Photo Shoot

I figured every perfect birthday party starts with the perfect invitation. So a couple months ago, with  McKinley dressed in a pink tutu & coordinating hair bow, Mike and I attempted another one of our DIY photo shoots. We hoped that at least one of the photos would be perfect for the invitation. Thankfully our little ham did not disappoint!

BIRTHday

It seems like only yesterday when we were on our way to the hospital about meet our daughter for the first time. This past Wednesday, our sweet McKinley Grace turned 1 year old. Who knew that little 8 lb. 1 oz. sleepy baby would turn into this big ball of personality that makes us laugh everyday!

Thanks Mom for the great photos!

Run Daddy Run

This past weekend Mike ran his first 1/2 Marathon. It was so much fun being able to be a cheerleader instead of a runner this year. We were able to see Mike around mile 6.5 and then we met up with him at the finish line. He did such an amazing job, especially since it ended up being a rather warm morning.

Here is the sweetest little cheerleader ever! I made this onesie using the same tutorial that I used to make her Easter Bunny onesie.

I was so happy that a lot of the family was able to make it to cheer Mike on. This was a special day and I am sure it meant a lot to him to have their support.

Way to go Daddy!!! We are so proud of you!!!
