Life Group Kiddos

This picture was taken at life group a few weeks back. There are a few kids missing from the picture, but when I look at this photo I can't help but feel blessed! Blessed to see that McKinley is surrounded by Godly children & friends. I am also blessed by what you can't see in the picture, the big group of parents standing behind the camera. Over the years these special people have become more than friends, they are family.

Trunk or Treat

Mike & I spent this past Sunday night at church for our annual "Trunk or Treat" event. Mike & I don't have any children, but we absolutely love the 6 children that are in our life group and we wanted to see them all dressed up. So we grabbed our camera and headed to church for this sugar crazed evening.

Here are pictures of our favorite little ones!

Asheville, North Carolina

A couple of weeks ago our life group traveled to Asheville, North Carolina for a much needed kid-free getaway. While in Asheville we toured the Biltmore Estate, ate at some really great restaurants, did a little hiking, and enjoyed kid-free conversation.

Here are a few pictures that were taken at the Biltmore. The Biltmore property is 8,000 acres. The main attractions on the property include the main house, a winery, creamery & stable, and the gardens & conservatory.

After spending all day on the Biltmore property we headed to downtown Asheville to eat dinner. The restaurant we decided to eat at did not take reservations, so while we waited on our table we did a little bit of shopping and enjoyed a very eclectic drum "performance". This "performance" was more like a jam session than anything else. It reminded me of the scene in the movie "The Visitor" where the main characters take their drums to Battery Park in NYC and join other drummers that are already there playing.

The energy at this park was amazing. There were all different kinds of people, children, & dogs and everyone was enjoying just being there. There were definitely lots of free spirits in attendance that night.

Janna and I posed for a quick picture at the sculpture in the park.

This was the view from our living room window in our Cabin!

This is the picture from our last night in Asheville. We actually ate at a restaurant in Black Mountain, NC called the Cellar Door.

Unfortunately, our entire life group wasn't able to make this trip and I can't finish this post without letting Josh & Karina know they were greatly missed!

Oh Yes It's Ladies Night!

Sunday night all the Life Group girls got to go out for a nice dinner while the men watched football and kept the kiddos. We all look forward to these nights so we can get dressed up, enjoy a nice meal and have uninterrupted girl talk.

Each time we have a girls night we usually try to eat at a locally-owned, non-chain, fun-trendy restaurant. Sunday we ate at PM Restaurant. The menu at PM is Asian inspired and they also have a full sushi bar. The food was amazing and so were the drinks. If you go you have to get the Passion Fruit Gingerale (non-alcoholic), especially if you are not a big drinker. I will definitely be taking Mike to PM sometime soon! Thanks guys for letting the ladies have a great night out.

Christmas Party

This past Saturday night was our annual Life Group Christmas Party. Over the past few years we have done Progressive Dinners, but this year we decided to do things a little different. Instead of all the ladies cooking we decided to eat at Park Cafe for dinner. The food was excellent, but we were missing two members of our group. Kyle and Janna missed dinner because Kyle was home sick. Luckily Janna was able to join us later. We missed you Kyle! After dinner we all headed to our house for dessert and Dirty Santa.

Here are some pictures from Saturday night. Since we were all having so much fun we forgot to get a group picture. We did how ever manage to get a picture of the girls.

After desert and "Dirty Santa" it was time to play some guitar hero. Over the course of the evening everyone tried their hand at the guitar, but I have to say that I think the two people that enjoyed it the most were Josh & Karina:)

Nashville Symphony

Lately, Mike and I have been talking about making an effort to enjoy more of what Nashville has to offer as far as entertainment. We find ourselves being homebodies in a city that has a ton of things to do. This past Sunday night our church lifegroup decided to meet at Crockett Park to enjoy the Nashville Symphony. So going to hear the Symphony not only got us out of the house, we also got to spend time with of our closest friends and their little bambinos. This was perfect! Before the Symphony started families enjoyed picnics and the kids got to enjoy some time on the playground, which my husband tells me is one of the coolest playgrounds he has ever seen. Yes, he is 37 years old. The weather was perfect, the Symphony sounded amazing, and the time spent with friends was priceless!

Enjoy the pictures of each family in our lifegroup.
